The Plant2Pro® Carnot Institute is a member of the Association des instituts Carnot, a network of 29 public research companies.
The Carnot label
The Carnot institutes are public research companies labelled by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research for their commitment to conducting and developing an R&D activity for business innovation. The Carnot label, created in 2006, is given to the Carnot institutes by the government following a highly selective call for applications. Each Carnot is subject to auditing every 3 years.

The Carnot institutes place partner-oriented research at the heart of their strategy. The objective of the Carnot institutesis tot increase the economic impact of the R&D activities carried out by their laboratories in partnership with businesses in terms of creating employment, national turnover and export, and therefore enhancing competitiveness.
A network of 29 research institutes
In 2016, as part of the third phase of the Carnot programme, 29 Carnot institutes have been granted a label of excellence by the government. The Plant2Pro® Carnot Institute was created when this label was granted.
In order to create a true working dynamic, the Carnot institutes are members of the Association des instituts Carnot (AiCarnot). The AiCarnot gathers together all of the Carnot institutes and manages the organisation and structure of the network.

The 29 Carnot institutes use 6 major fields of expertise :
- mechanics, materials and processes
- pathology, nutrition, health technologies
- energy, propulsion, transport
- TIC, micro- and nano-technologies
- building, civil engineering, land development
- environment, natural resources, chemistry
All of these institutes help to meet the innovation and R&D needs of businesses, no matter their business sector.
